We’re always out there looking for new ideas. A few months ago I stumbled upon a small group of these strange industrial coils. They were 15″ diameter cooling cores that were used in large water tanks. The cores are hollow cast iron. These are similar to the early radiators found in homes but shaped like a donut. The finish on each coil is weathered with a heavily pitted patina that can only be duplicated by decades wear. Each lamp uses half a coil. The difficult task for our machine shop was slicing these cast iron donuts in half. We rigged a contraption just for this job. The final result is a strange and wonderful industrial chandelier. The 5 bulb lamp makes a perfect flush mount or can hang pendent style with pipe. It’s an excellent example of the early bare bulb esthetic. We have 12 lamps in stock at $950 each.
