1800s Cast Iron Eastlake Six-Arm Oil Chandelier
Not many of these large and impressive Eastlake oil chandeliers were made and few survive today. Lamps like this are often unsigned but are attributed to companies like Tucker or Bradley and Hubbard. Our best guess is 1870 by Tucker. There are six arms and each one held an oil lamp. It was quite a job to carefully electrify each font to now take a standard bulb and not destroy the historic look of this large piece. This example was finished with frosted chimneys and draping opaline shades. This combination gives the chandelier a a nice soft glow. We also kept the original gold finish and patina. With all its cast iron and brass ornament the feel is surprisingly simple and elegant and at the same time commanding… 32″ diameter x 42″… $4200
