Rare Dayton No. 230 Two-Light Railroad Car Center Lamp

Few of these luxury class Victorian RR lamps still exist. Any remaining examples have found their way into museums or private collections some time ago. This was the type and quality of centre lighting used in private luxury Pullman cars of that era. They were also part of the elaborate personal train cars built for The Rockefeller’s and Vanderbilt’s. Here is a beautiful signed original double chandelier still retaining its original milk glass shades. It was carefully wired to take standard E26 bulbs. We mounted the lamp a square wood platform for safety only. This lamp was found listed in an early Dayton Car Trimmings catalog #200. This is an elaborate and rare one and the first example we have ever seen turn up. This is a nice piece of railroad history. 16″x 26″ wide x 23″ tall… $5800
