Large 10 Panel French High Style Art Deco Chandelier by Georges LELEU
This original and rare Art Deco chandelier that is fresh to the market. It was recently acquired from a New York City estate. The lamp was originally purchased in Paris and shipped to New York over 50 years ago. Shown is the photo of this lamp hanging in living room of the upper east side penthouse. This is an impressive lamp that features a diameter of 27 inches with ten panels plus the center dome. This larger lamp is something not often seen. It is illuminated with 11 bulbs. It’s an important part of French Art Deco history. This lamp is the work of French master Georges Leleu. The original metal finish is brushed nickel and the heavy cast glass shades are frosted. This is in beautiful condition and the real thing. If you’re a knowledgeable buyer then you already know how important and well priced this lamp is.
Georges Leleu, born in 1883, marked Art Deco and Art Nouveau with his style that was both precise and poetic. He distinguished himself in particular in the creation of lighting fixtures and decorative objects.
