Very Rare 1800s Adams and Westlake Railroad Dining Car Double Chandelier

Few of these luxury class Victorian RR lamps still exist. Any remaining examples have found their way into museums or Restorations. This was the type and quality of center lighting used in private luxury Pullman cars of that era. This is actually two separate single ceiling chandeliers mounted side by side as a matching pair and sold as a single unit. It must be quite rare and could have been a custom order. We can’t even find then in the early catalogs. So you can mount then any way you want. They were also part of the elaborate personal train cars built for The Rockefeller’s and Vanderbilt’s. This is a beautiful original double chandelier still retaining its original white milk glass dome shades. An interesting and unique detail is the brass match striker on the side of the main tubes and the original piped smoke catchers above each lamp. Everything was carefully wired to take standard bulbs. This lamp is signed Adams & Westlake and is typical if the lamp manufactures for the Norfolk and Western railroad.
This is a nice piece of railroad history… Each of the two lamps measure 10″x 25″tall x 18″… $4800 for the pair
